1 Thes. 5:16-18

Dear Family and Friends,

My loving sister-in-law, Sarah, has inspired me to do something new in my life. Everyday she shares 10 things for which she is thankful on her blogspot (www.sarahprincefitz777.blogspot.com). Over the past two weeks I have enjoyed reading her list and meditating on the things in my life for which I am thankful. As I was doing this, I was reminded of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which states: "Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." My friend, Amy, and I have since committed this verse to memory. Being assurred of God's will for my life is definitely something to be thankful for!

While I am not always thankful FOR all circumstances (there are some painful things in my life that I wish were different), I have been reminded to be thankful IN all circumstances. It is my prayer that all of you can catch the "thankfulness fever" that has afflicted me.

I am also posting my thankfulness list as a testimony of my love for Christ. Unlike the Apostle Paul (and my sister-in-law Sarah), I struggle with sharing the good news of God's love and mercy with others. I pray that this exercise will help me grow spiritually as I continue to mature in God's love.

I hope you enjoy reading my Thankfulness List and that it brings a smile to your face. I bookmarked Sarah's blog in my toolbar and read it everyday. It serves as a gentle reminder to me that God is loving and merciful. I pray that my blog will serve in the same way for someone else.

God Bless, Amy

Being Thankful in All Circumstances

I am thankful for...

1. Jesus, the sacrifice he made for my sins, and the promise of eternity with him. (Acts 16:31)
2. my loving and wonderful husband, Todd
3. Michael and Daniel, two amazing blessings!
4. Sarah's love and commitment to the Lord and her wonderful examples
5. the yummy cup of tea that I am drinking right now
6. beautiful Christmas music that reminds me why we really celebrate Christmas
7. the blue sky and white puffy clouds that I can see out my window right now
8. my happy, sleeping baby Daniel
9. Todd's safe return from Australia
10. friends like you who are reading my Thankfulness List

Amy, I love that you are doing a list now too. Both of you are huge inspirations for me...I enjoy reading both of your Thankful lists everyday and as Mark can tell you...I HATE reading! Thanks, I often need to be reminded to "be thankful in all circumstances." You would think it would be easier after being reminded of the amazing blessings I have during my 2nd visit to Cuba!
