Ephesians 5:21

"Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ," Ephesians 5:21.

Do you ever notice how this instruction can be both easy and difficult depending on the person or circumstance? I often find it very matter of fact to submit to others, especially since it is a life-style change I have been practicing. Circumstances that would have ruffled my feathers a few years ago (or even a few months ago) no longer pose a challenge because I have learned to submit to others....out of revernence for Christ. The second part of the verse is key for me. There is no way I would be able to do some of the things I do with a loving and patient heart if it wasn't for my desire to revere Christ. I say this and at the same time recognize that I still have a long way to go, but as long as the "going" is Christ-centered, I'll do just fine.

There are those situations, however, where submission seems impossible. Do you know what I mean? I can feel them coming on weeks before they even come to fruition. I have learned that with God, easy doesn't cut it. He wants us to sweat. God wants me to submit in the impossible situations....out of reverence for His Son. I need to start praying about these situations long before their time. I need to remember to turn it over to God and submit, just as He has commanded me. How many times do I need to be reminded of this? Please remember me in your prayers as I learn to submit during the difficult times.

I am thankful for...

1. the wonderful family God has provided me, both the Abbotts and the Fitzpatricks.
2. seeing the Eessalu family tonight.
3. a safe trip to Cleveland.
4. Mark, Sarah, and Ben sending brownies!
5. seeing Jason today during our trip to Cleveland.
6. beautiful traveling weather.
7. my sweet nephew, James, who is so sweet and cheeky!
8. Todd and Carey doing all of the dishes.
9. Michael's super-cute interest in dogs.
10. little Daniel, who was so good today in the car! He is such a trooper!
