"You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you" Psalm 118:28.
There is just so much for which to be thankful, I could go on and on. I'm especially thankful for the wonderful nap I took this afternoon. This morning I brought Michael to school, stayed for his Christmas program, attended a lovely tea, picked Michael up from school, brought the boys home, and put them both down for a nap. It was then that I had a "critical" decision to make. To nap or not to nap. My house was on its way to becoming annoyingly messy, however I really wanted to let my body, spirit and mind rest. The 1 1/2 hour nap won!
I love napping! I love climbing into bed, resting my head on the pillow, and talking to God as I journey off. And that IS what I do, and I think that is why I like napping so much. A good nap is a true gift from God for me. It refreshes and renews me. I feel strengthened, and my patience has been replenished.
Now you may ask, how do you get all of your tasks and chores done if you are napping all the time? My answer...it's a God thing. After my nap, I cleaned, took down the Christmas tree, lights, ornaments, and all of the decorations (that story is for tomorrow!). After that, I fed the boys, bathed them, put them to bed, continued cleaning, made dinner, did the dishes, and wrote this blog. I recognize this is nothing compared to other women, but I don't compare myself. Instead, I say, "Thanks for the nap Lord....and thanks for streching out my time in the remainder of the day."
I am thankful for...
1. sitting on the couch with Todd and listening to the Maroon 5 concert on TV.
2. sitting around the table this morning with my friends enjoying tea, and sharing what a "dream day" would entail.
3. my adorable Daniel, who was so good today...he lows my mind!
4. watching Michael in his Christmas program this morning...maybe next year he'll stand in his spot and actually sing.
5. Todd having a good day at work.
6. an almost clean house...does anybody do bathrooms?
7. Jason, who call with "religious" questions...keeps me on my toes.
8. skyline chili and hotdogs.
9. watching Michael mature into a little boy.
10. having friends who love and exalt the Lord. They serve as wonderful examples of focused living. Thank you!
