Ecclesiastes 3:1

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven..." Ecclesiastes 3:1.

My second year of teaching 2nd grade was great. We were living in Ohio, and I was teaching at a very nice private school. I had 20 students in my class. One student, in particular, has always been very special to me. His name is Alex. When Alex was 7 and in the second grade, he was curious, energetic, sensitive, expressive, artistic, creative and what I call a "joyful handful". It took a lot of effort to channel Alex's talent, but it was well worth the effort. He was a very special student, and I have always remembered him fondly. It has been 4 years since I have taught Alex, however just the other day I reffered to him in a conversation I had with Todd. It just so happens, we believe our son, Michael, is a "joyful handful" for his teachers at pre-school. Of course, this reminded me of my year with Alex, and it brought a smile to my face. To my surprise, Alex called me last night, out of the blue, after four years. Apparantly my name came up in a family conversation, and he decided to call and catch up. What a wonderful gift!

Alex didn't know how perfectly timed his call was; but God knew. God placed Alex in my life during a specific "season" to prepare me for the son I was to have in a later "season". God's timing is always so exact and sweet. I am so thankful that Alex called me, and I am so very thankul that God has reminded me, yet again, how wonderful little boys can be!

I am thankful for...

1. Todd rescheduling his trip to Dallas.
2. old students who fondly remember me.
3. the silly noises Michael makes when he is protesting his nap.
4. Daniel being such a good boy while we ran errands today.
5. Miss Gina, Michael's teacher.
6. the return of bedtime bear.
7. Doritos.
8. my mom, Nonnie, and Howie going to Ben's every Tuesday.
9. a very comfy couch.
10. a full tank of gas. (for an okay price)
